CALM PLACE EXERCISE

Our imagination is a phenomenal tool!

Create a place within yourself where you can start to challenge the experience of feeling anxious, tense, etc. and shift towards feeling more calm, relaxed or at ease - a place where you can feel more connected to yourself and your body, and hopefully less in your head, or less trapped by your nervous system responding to the world around you.

You can listen when you're looking for moments of calm or peace, to interrupt moments of rumination, anxiety or overwhelm, or as you're winding down for the night before bed.

As with all tools and regulation strategies, I suggest you practice this exercise when you're less anxious or stressed first to get used to it and see how it feels for you.
